About

Amelia Compton was a child who loved stories. From an early age, she sought to develop short stories of her own, and was classically trained by author-illustrator Robert Florzcak. Compton later advanced to study at the California Institute of the Arts (CalArts). It was there, while earning her BFA in Visual Art, that Compton’s storytelling began to extend beyond the page, to the screen. She took a semester abroad to complete intensive studies in experimental animation at Falmouth University (Cornwall, England), where she gained practical experience working on student-produced short films.

Compton can't be limited to just one discipline. She's a writer, an animator, an illustrator--all of the above. Because of her artistic versatility, she can bridge creative practices to produce distinctive projects catered to any client’s vision. Personality is at the core of Compton's work. She is passionate about reviving traditional mediums, such as gouache painting and hand-drawn animation, and is looking to join a collaborative team of like-minded artists who value thoughtfulness, whimsy and open-minded exploration.

Compton is currently based in Los Angeles, CA. Her visual development work has been displayed at Imagine Entertainment.
